Privacy policy

What the app stores, what it never sends, and why there is no account to delete.

No data collectedNo accountNo analytics
The short version

FishTank Diary has no account system, no server that stores your tank history, no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK. The App Store privacy label reads data not collected. Your log stays on your device until you export it yourself.

1. What the app stores

Everything you enter — tank names, volumes, water test results, maintenance and feeding entries, notes and reminder settings — is written to the app’s local storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us, because there is no backend to transmit it to.

2. What we do not collect

  • No name, email address, phone number or account identifier.
  • No analytics, telemetry, session recording or crash-reporting SDK.
  • No advertising identifiers, and no advertising.
  • No location data, contacts, photos or health data.

3. Device backups

If you back your device up to iCloud or a computer, the app’s local data may be included in that backup, as with any app. That backup is controlled by you and Apple, not by us. We cannot access it.

4. Export and sharing

CSV export is initiated by you and handled by the iOS share sheet. Where the file goes — Files, Mail, AirDrop, a cloud drive — is your choice, and the privacy terms of that destination apply.

5. Purchases

The Pro unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive aggregate sales information from Apple (for example, number of purchases by country) but no information that identifies an individual buyer. Apple’s privacy policy governs the transaction.

6. This website

This site is a static marketing site. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not embed third-party analytics. Like any website, it is served by a hosting provider that processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and reliability.

7. Children

The app is rated 4+ and is not directed at children, but because it collects no personal data at all, there is nothing to collect from a child either.

8. Your choices

Deleting the app deletes its local data. Export to CSV first if you want to keep the history. There is no account to delete and no data request to file, because we hold no data about you.

9. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the effective date below changes with it. Questions: support@fishtankdiary.com.
