Reminders that fire before it becomes an emergency

The expensive failures in this hobby are rarely dramatic. They are ordinary tasks that slipped a week — twice.

A reminder that fires on the right day is worth more than a perfect test kit. Nitrate creep, filter media that has not been rinsed in six weeks, and a top-off that dropped your hardness are all schedule problems before they are chemistry problems.

Tasks you can schedule

  • Water changes — by volume or by percentage, with an interval that matches your stocking.
  • Filter cleaning — with a warning that media should be rinsed, not sterilised, so you do not reset your cycle.
  • Gravel vacuuming and siphoning — the task most small tanks actually need most often.
  • Top-offs, dosing and conditioner — recorded as maintenance events with the amount you used.
  • Medication and treatment courses — so a five-day course does not quietly become a two-day course.

Overdue, not just upcoming

A notification you can swipe away is not a system. Anything overdue stays on the Today screen until you mark it done, and the tank card changes state so you can see which tank needs you first when you open the app.

Per tank, not per app

A 5-gallon shrimp tank and a 75-gallon community tank do not share a schedule. Each tank carries its own reminder set, so moving to more tanks does not mean maintaining one average schedule that fits none of them. Multi-tank support is part of the Pro unlock.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do reminders need an internet connection?
No. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device, which is also why the app can run without an account.
Can I pause reminders while I am away?
Yes. Pause a task instead of deleting it, so the schedule is still there when you get back.
What happens if I ignore a reminder for a week?
It becomes overdue and stays visible on the Today screen. Nothing is auto-completed — the log only contains work you confirmed.
